After the eleventh-hour run-in with his Ayogya producer actor-star-activist Vishal Krishna has decided to be a producer on all his films .
“Why face the risk of going through this again when I can make it happen for myself?I know I’ve the infrastructure and the power to produce my own films. So from now on I’m never going to be dependent on a producer who may pull the rug from under my feet at the last minute,” says Vishal.
He brightens up as he talks about the boxoffice performance of Ayogya. “Though it opened a day late,Ayogya is doing exceedingly well. And although we lost at least Rs 4 crores because we couldn’t release on Friday I was happy because we had the next three weeks without any competition until Surya’s new film NGK opened on May 31.”
Vishal has also decided to do some re-writing of his next film in the light of the success of Ayogya. “It is again a film based on newspaper headlines. It tackles Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and we have gone into the theme with sensitivity. But I feel the script could do with some fine-tuning.”
The film recreates Pakistan in Jaipur and Istanbul.
“We shot in these two places as the topography is similar to what we wanted in Pakistan. We couldn’t shoot in Pakistan, for obvious reasons,” says Vishal.
