Watch: Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun Wakes Up In A Novel Starring 2PM’s Taecyeon In “The First Night With The Duke” Teaser
KBS2’s upcoming drama “The First Night with the Duke” has released its first teaser!
“The First Night with the Duke” is a fantasy romance drama about an ordinary college student whose soul is transferred into a minor character of a romance novel. After she wakes up inside the world of the novel, she winds up spending the night with the obsessive male lead.
The new teaser begins with the moment when college student K wakes up inside the body of Cha Sun Chaek (Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun), a minor character in K’s favorite romance novel. After initially doubting her surroundings, Cha Sun Chaek is humorously more excited about spotting the novel’s male lead Yi Beon (2PM’s Taecyeon) than she is worried about her situation.
“Wait, but he’s way more handsome than I expected,” exclaims an impressed Cha Sun Chaek. “Even if this is a dream, let’s not wake up.”
However, things take an unexpected turn when Cha Sun Chaek (now possessed by K) meets Yi Beon and shocks him with a sudden kiss. After they spend the night together, Yi Beon insists that she take responsibility, declaring, “The crime of plotting to seduce a member of the royal family and steal his virginity: this is treason.”
K, who was merely trying to enjoy herself while living in the world of the novel, now faces a life-or-death crisis. Although Cha Sun Chaek desperately attempts to wiggle her way out of the situation by disguising herself or tricking Yi Beon, nothing seems to work. “To die or to get married, that is truly the question,” she laments.
