tvN’s upcoming drama “Resident Playbook” has shared a peek inside its first script reading!

A spin-off of the hit series “Hospital Playlist,” “Resident Playbook” will depict the realistic and relatable hospital lives, growth, and heartwarming friendships of OBGYN residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center.

The script reading was attended by director Lee Min Soo and writer Kim Song Hee, as well as cast members Go Youn Jung, Shin Si Ah, Kang You Seok, Han Ye Ji, Jung Joon Won, and more.

In the newly released video, Go Youn Jung introduces her character Oh Yi Young by saying, “She is an easygoing and charming character with a strong sense of responsibility but low motivation.” She goes on to describe Oh Yi Young, whom she portrays with a blend of innocence and passion, as “cute and harmless.”

Shin Si Ah, who plays Pyo Nam Kyung, also shares insights into her character, explaining, “She is an ambitious doctor who wants to have it all—work, beauty, and love.” During the script reading, she naturally switches between Pyo Nam Kyung’s intense and soft moments, perfectly capturing the multifaceted character.

Kang You Seok, who plays Um Jae Il, is shown fully immersed in his role, embodying a passionate yet down-to-earth character. Meanwhile, Han Ye Ji, who plays Kim Sa Bi, highlights her academically gifted character’s charm, displaying a slightly arrogant side as she brags about her top rankings and sometimes scolds her fellow residents.

Finally, overseeing the group is Goo Do Won, a fourth-year obstetrics and gynecology resident played by Jung Joon Won. The actor’s natural and friendly portrayal aligns with the character, who is beloved by both senior and junior colleagues as well as professors.
