Shah Rukh Khan gets candid on wife Gauri and his children!

We know Shah Rukh Khan to talk straight from the hip and heart. Rajeev Masand has interviewed the star for CNN-News18’s Now Showing where SRK talks about a variety of topics from his personal life to professional one. The interview will be aired tonight at 8.30 pm.

Excerpts:

On his children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam and leaving an inheritance for them…

“The acceptance of the fact that I’m an actor has been there for so long. They’re neither critical nor appreciative (of my work). We, my sister, Gauri and I, are very lower middle class people… Our wants, desires are not so many. But having said that, we are also of the belief that if you have the money, you should spend it on having a good life. There’s nothing like saving for a rainy day. Because I did not have a house ever, till I came to Mumbai…I think I will give my children amazing basic education. The minimum criterion to live in the house is to be a graduate. But post that, the only thing I’ll give them is a house. It was difficult getting a house…I realise it.
They don’t want anything else. My kids are very clear about it. They don’t travel the way star kids should, they don’t have a car abroad… They travel by taxis, cars and trains out of choice. If my management tries to help them, they say tell papa we don’t need anything. We don’t have money saved for a rainy day for them to live off.”

On his wife Gauri…
“Gauri was new to the film industry, but so was I. Two years in Mumbai was for us like a honeymoon full of bumps. There were issues. You didn’t know whether you would shoot till 6 am in the morning.”
