Jillian Lauren, wife and author of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was shot and recently arrested by Los Angeles police. Lauren was taken in on suspicion of attempted murder. Interestingly, the author had a handgun on her person that she aimed in the direction of the police.
Shriner was not involved in the actions.

Importantly, Lauren sustained non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the shoulder during the altercation that occurred in the Eagle Rock neighborhood. She was also released on a million dollar bond soon after.
Her court date is set for April 30. Not much is known as to why Lauren was holding a weapon nor why she was pointing it at police.
What led to Lauren’s arrest is just as crazy as a story.
Police were helping the California Highway Patrol as they looked for suspects from a hit-and-run accident. As police chased after one of the suspects who was said to be running through a backyard in the Eagle Rock neighborhood, they found Lauren in her own front yard touting a handgun.
Two suspects are still at large. Lauren was not involved in the hit-and-run.
People Magazine managed to get their hands on audio from the police where they heard officers tell dispatch that Lauren “has a gun in her hand.”
She refused to drop the weapon after several police commands to do so. Eventually, she pointed it at them. Whether or not shots came from her gun is unknown; police gunfire did hit Lauren. She then ran into her home where officers arrested her and found a 9-millimeter handgun.
“Female suspect’s going to be wanted for ADW [assault with a deadly weapon] on the PO [police officer],” People transcribes.
After the fact, People says an officer calls out over the radio “female suspect, gunshot victim.”
Is Coachella still on for Weezer?
Shriner, who has been married to Lauren since 2005, and the band Weezer are still set to play Coachella.
That much has been confirmed by both the band and Coachella’s unchanged schedule.
The New York Post caught up with Shriner outside of his home as he was returning from walking his dogs where he confirmed he would be at Coachella as well.
Lauren is an accomplished author. Her 2010 autobiography – “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem” – follows four years of her life between 1992 and 1995 as Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei’s paid guest.
