Weird Al Posts Rare Photo of His Daughter Celebrating Her College Graduation
In a move that sent longtime fans into a happy tailspin, “Weird Al” Yankovic just posted a rare photo of his daughter Nina — and we’re not emotionally prepared for how sweet it is. The proud dad took to Instagram on June 8 to celebrate Nina’s college graduation, marking the occasion with a rare public shoutout and a classic Weird Al one-liner. Because of course he did.
Who Is Nina Yankovic?
If you’ve followed Al for a while, you know he’s always kept his family life super private. Nina Yankovic, now 22, is his only child with wife Suzanne Yankovic, and until now, she’s stayed pretty far away from the spotlight. That said, Al has sprinkled in a few proud dad moments over the years… like when he helped her move into college in 2021 or when he mentioned her hosting a radio show while balancing a crazy college schedule.
On the Club Random with Bill Maher podcast back in 2022 Al said, “Yeah, no, I’ve got a 19 year old daughter named Nina. And she goes to school back east… she’s majoring in English and environmental science and art. So she’ll save the world somehow, I’m sure.” (Yes, a triple major… check out her art below!) And that quote hits even harder now that she’s officially a college grad. You can practically feel how proud he is without him having to spell it out.
The Photo That Broke the Internet (In a Good Way)
Captioned, “Sorry, this is the most recent picture I could find of her,” Al shared a pic of him and Nina at her graduation… complete with cap, gown, giant smile, and lots of love. It’s one of the few glimpses fans have gotten of Nina over the years, and judging by the replies, everyone is thrilled to see her thriving. Celebs like Seth Green and Ayo Edebiri even popped into the comments with their congrats.
This might be one of the most relatable celebrity posts we’ve seen in a minute. No glam filter, no paparazzi pics; just a dad beaming next to his daughter on one of the biggest days of her life. Leave it to Al to sneak in a dad joke and still melt our hearts.
One fan commented on the photo joking back:
“I wonder if she thought her dad was lame and dorky like everyone else thinks of their parents at some point or if she was like 🤘 yes my dad is weird fuggin AL.”
Another chose to be a bit more serious saying:

Even if you’re not a long-time fan of his parody songs, it’s hard not to root for someone who stays grounded, goofy, and totally devoted to his kid. And now that Nina’s out in the world, diploma in hand, we can’t help but cheer her on too.
