The Reacher Season 3 finale is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Fans are now wondering what happens to Roberto Montesinos’ Guillermo Villanueva in the show and whether he lives or dies. Introduced this season, Villanueva is a DEA agent affiliated with the team led by Sonya Cassidy’s Susan Duffy and part of the investigation that the agency has launched into Anthony Michael Hall’s Zachary Beck.

Here is everything you need to know about Villanueva’s fate in Reacher Season 3.

Does Guillermo Villanueva die in Reacher Season 3 finale?

No, Guillermo Villanueva doesn’t die in the Reacher Season 3 finale.

Since his introduction, Villanueva has become a fan-favorite character. He often serves as a source of levity in an otherwise mostly grim and dark season. In Season 3 Episode 8, or the finale, titled Unfinished Business, Villanueva is part of the group that takes out Quinn’s henchmen, who had earlier eliminated an ATF squad. When the group raids Beck’s home to take out Brian Tee’s Quinn, the season’s primary antagonist, Villanueva is tasked to rescue Beck’s son Richard. He encounters Gibson, one of Quinn’s underlings, and they have a brutal fight in a washroom, which Villanueva wins.

Villanueva manages to find Richard, but Quinn later takes the young boy hostage. Ultimately, Reacher, Villanueva, and the rest of the team come out on top. Reacher executes Quinn for what the latter did to Dominique Kohl after Villanueva and the others excuse themselves to give Reacher the opportunity to do so.

Toward the end of the episode, Reacher and Villanueva share one last banter before parting ways. Villanueva decides to leave the DEA. He and Susan visit the family of Steven Eliot, who was killed earlier in the season.

In the final scene of the season featuring Villanueva, he drives up to his home in his battered car before approaching the door with a bouquet of flowers he has brought. His wife, Maureen, opens the door and welcomes him into his happily ever after.
