Big relief for the beleaguered Jacqueline Fernandez from the Delhi High Court which has granted her bail in the Sukesh Chandrasekhar scam case.
But Jacqueline’s troubles are far from over.
A filmmaker friend of hers who doesn’t want to be named says she brought this on herself. “All her friends in the industry warned her against this association(with Chandrasekhar) . But she turned a blind eye and a deaf ear for obvious reasons. Now all her friends have deserted her.”
Jacqueline was nowhere to be seen in her (former) best friend Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s celebrations on motherhood. Sources say her friends are all “keeping a safe distance.”
So are the producers.
There will be no long queue to sign her just because she has been granted bail. The two major A-listers who were inclined to work with her, namely Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan, are not likely to make any announcements of films with Jacqueline as a co-star.
So where does her career go from here? It will be difficult but not impossible for Jacqueline to get back on her feet. Even the South industry has for now closed its door on her. But according to a filmmaker who has worked with her in the past, “The one thing she needs to do is, be patient, to not sign the wrong films in desperation. She should rely on her buffer funds for now and wait for the industry to forget this episode. In the past Sanjay Dutt, Vinod Khanna and Parveen Babi have been given a second chance. Why not Jacqueline?”
