With Quantico shutting down abruptly, our global icon Priyanka Chopra’s career in India needs rigorous resuscitation .
Apparently Priyanka knew what was coming and had begun to make preparations for a safe landing in Bollywood by getting in touch with her old friends, like Sanjay Leela Bhansali , Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra
One of the director-friends in Bollywood Priyanka got in touch with was her old friend Ali Abbas Zafar with whom she had worked in the director’s 2014 film Gunday.
It was Abbas who convinced Salman Khan that Priyanka would be the perfect fit for Bharat the film that Abbas is directing for Salman.
Says a source close to the development, “Salman was not in the least interested in doing a film with Priyanka. He had been refusing to work with her for years now. But Ali being Salman’s new blue-eyed boy –they’ve collaborated in three film so far—was able to convince Salman. She owes this comeback vehicle to Ali.”
Priyanka now needs to create a whole lot of goodwill in Bollywood , as many filmmaker here think she abandoned her home territory and gave priority to the foreigners.
“Priyanka wasn’t in India to promote Bajirao Mastani. But Bhansali had Ranveer and Deepika to promote his film. But Prakash Jha had to do it alone with an almost-unknown actor Manav Kaul. Priyanka was the face of Jha’s Gangaa Jal and she was busy in America. She’ll have to work really hard to win back Bollywood’s confidence.”
