What Time Dexter: Resurrection Episodes 1 & 2 Release On Paramount+

After supposedly dying in New Blood, Dexter Morgan is back to life in Dexter: Resurrection, the franchise’s latest sequel series that finally arrives this week. The long-awaited debut of Dexter: Resurrection marks the fourth TV show in the Dexter world, following the original 2006 series, the limited 2021 New Blood revival, and Paramount+’s recently renewed Dexter: Original Sin prequel.

This time, Michael C. Hall is back leading Dexter: Resurrection’s cast, picking up a few months after New Blood’s divisive ending. In that finale, Dexter’s son, Harrison, shot him for breaking Harry’s Code, concluding under the implication that he died. However, the new series reveals Dexter actually survived and fell into a coma, with his awakening and journey to reunite with Harrison kicking off in Dexter: Resurrection episodes 1 and 2 this Friday.

A two-episode drop for the premiere comes as an exciting surprise for Dexter: Resurrection, as Original Sin debuted with just one entry back in December 2024. Meanwhile, the controversial New Blood also kicked off with just one episode to start in November 2021. Though unprecedented, Dexter: Resurrection getting a two-hour premiere kicks off Michael C. Hall’s long-awaited return with greater momentum.

However, two-episode debuts won’t be the norm for the remainder of the new Dexter TV show. Following the premiere on July 11, Dexter: Resurrection season 1 will start releasing one new episode each Friday on Paramount+ at the same drop time.

After Dexter: Resurrection season 1, episode 2, there are only eight episodes remaining. Resurrection season 1 was given a 10-episode order – the same as both New Blood and Original Sin season 1. As such, Dexter: Resurrection’s season 1 finale is expected to premiere on Friday, September 5, barring any currently undisclosed breaks similar to Original Sin’s hiatus between episodes 6 and 7.

Though Dexter: Resurrection season 2 has yet to be confirmed by Showtime and Paramount+, the series has been teased with plans for multiple seasons. Unlike New Blood, which was meant to be a limited revival, Dexter: Resurrection could go on to be another long-running series like Clyde Phillips’ original crime show if season 1 performs well.
