We’re in the home stretch of August, with the days ticking down until we cross into the Fall of 2025. What’s in store on Netflix for the next seven days? At least 20 new movies and series, and we’re here to break down everything coming up over the next week.
While this week may seem a little quiet in terms of new releases, September 2025 is going to be extremely busy. While there are a few heavy hitters throughout the month, like a new show from the creator of Money Heist and one from the creator of Peaky Blinders, there are a bunch of smaller titles that are absolutely worth checking out. We’ll have preview posts throughout this week, previewing what we’re excited for. Until then, familiarize yourself with the entire lineup for September here.
Now, let’s get into some highlights for the week:
KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along
Available on Netflix: Now
The chances are you’ve already watched KPop Demon Hunters over the Summer, with the movie expected to be confirmed this week as Netflix’s most-watched movie in its entire history (and will probably stay that way given the lead it’s going to have!). Still, this weekend, a celebratory special set of screenings took place across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and several other territories, allowing you to experience it in theaters with special subtitles encouraging you to sing along.
That special version of the movie is now streaming on Netflix and the description is as follows: “We’re goin’ up, up, up — now it’s YOUR moment! Grab the mic and sing along to all your favorite songs with this ultimate fan edition of the smash hit.”
With thanks to all those who ventured out to the cinemas this weekend and sent us pictures (see full thread here), it looks like you had a whale of a time, but for anyone who missed out, you can now sing to your heart’s content at home!

The Thursday Murder Club (2025) Netflix Original
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
Rounding out Netflix’s summer of movies this week is The Thursday Murder Club, which brings to life the best-selling novel by Richard Osman to the screens courtesy of director Chris Columbus and including the talents of British royalty, including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie.
The premise of the movie is simple: four pensioners spend each Thursday together solving a theoretical murder. One week, however, their abilities have to be put to the ultimate test as a real murder lands on their doorstep.
If you want to dive deeper into the new movie, the cast and team behind the film just recently sat down and explored the origin and some of the themes, plus more background, at the British Library.
Two Graves (Limited Series)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Finally, sticking with the crime theme, we head to Spain for a new limited series with features Álvaro Morte, best known for his role as the professor on Money Heist. The synopsis reads, “Two years after the disappearance of Verónica and Marta, two 16-year-old friends, the investigation is declared closed due to lack of evidence and suspects. The grandmother of one of the two girls, Isabel (Kiti Mánver), who has nothing to lose, decides to carry out an investigation beyond the law. Isabel will do whatever it takes to uncover the truth about what happened that night and what begins as the search for a culprit soon becomes a story of revenge.”
