Where Is Shah Rukh Khan?

Nagesh Kukunoor’s beautifully crafted  Dhanak which opened this week is about two children who set off on a trip across Rajasthan to meet the superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The entire film is  designed as an ongoing tribute to King Khan’s stardom.

However Shah Rukh is nowhere to be seen in the film.

Apparently director Nagesh Kukunoor was keen to have SRK  make a guest appearance at the of the lovely film. But was denied access to the star.

Now when Dhanak is released  Kukunoor and the team are keen to show SRK the film. But he refuses to respond to their calls and messages.

Says a source, “The Dhanak team is at its wit’s end. They tried getting in touch during the shooting and after the film’s release. It’s strange. Usually Shah Rukh is very accessible to producers and filmmakers who seek his support. Dhanak is a beautiful film and a befitting tribute to SRK’s stardom. He has agreed to play cameos in the silliest of films just because  he was asked to.Wonder what has happened this time!”
