While controversy continues to swirl around W Korea’s breast cancer awareness charity event “Love your W”, actor Byun Woo-seok has earned quiet praise for his meaningful styling choice.
The event, held on October 15, faced criticism for allegedly turning into a “marketing show” rather than a genuine awareness campaign. Yet, amid the noise, Byun Woo-seok’s subtle yet powerful pink flower brooch caught public attention.

The actor arrived wearing a Prada 2025 FW collection look — a white cream jacket, white top, and pinstripe pants — accented by a single pink flower pin placed over his heart. The color pink, symbolizing breast cancer awareness, perfectly aligned with the event’s purpose.
Unlike the flashy or logo-heavy fashion often seen at celebrity galas, Byun opted for an understated elegance that emphasized sincerity. As one online comment noted, “He didn’t need to say anything — the pink flower said it all.”
Fashion critics also pointed out that the look demonstrated sensitivity to the cause, whether or not it was intentionally selected for that reason. “Even if it was part of Prada’s styling, it showed awareness and respect,” wrote one fashion journalist on AtStyle.
Netizens on Korean community forums like TheQoo and Pann reacted positively, saying:
- That’s how you support an event — subtly but meaningfully.
- He’s always been thoughtful. This feels genuine.
- Finally, someone remembered what this event is actually about.
One exception was actor Byun Woo-seok, who drew praise for wearing a pink floral accessory. Many assumed it was a deliberate nod to the campaign’s mission. However, it was later revealed that the pink corsage was part of a designer collection by luxury brand P, originally attached to the white jacket he wore. Other celebrities, including Lee Do-hyun and Hong Kyung, have worn the same collection featuring the same pink accent.
Byun Woo-seok currently serves as a Prada ambassador, a role he has fulfilled since 2023. His simple yet powerful look stands in contrast to the ongoing backlash against other attendees accused of over-commercializing the charity event.
Despite the debate, Byun Woo-seok’s choice resonated deeply — a reminder that sometimes, the smallest gestures can speak the loudest.
