Jack Doherty: Inside Internet’s Most Notorious Nuisance
For those of you who are familiar with Jack Doherty and his content, the report of arrest won’t come as a surprise. Known for flaunting his wealth to his subscribers, his entire brand revolves around being an internet nuisance.
From instigating strangers in public and cowering behind his bodyguard to crashing a car and filming the aftermath without checking if the cameraman was alright, Doherty isn’t the most responsible internet personality.
And if crashing his McLaren wasn’t enough, the controversial prankster went on to partake in an alleged rug pull last year. After hyping up his own meme coin among his subscribers, Doherty allegedly executed a rug pull during a live stream, and many alleged he even deleted all his tweets that promoted the meme coin in the wake of the pump-and-dump scandal.

These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Doherty’s history of being a problematic figure on the internet. Moreover, other major YouTube and Social Media entities, including Moist Cr1TiKaL, aka Penguinz0, have been calling out his antics for years, including the alleged rug pull in question.
How Severe Are the Charges Against Jack Doherty?
Coming back to his recent arrest, a bond has been set for $3.5k, which is yet to be satisfied. As for how he was caught, in true Doherty fashion, the social media refused to comply with the officers upon being told to move away from the roadway due to the risk of a safety hazard for other drivers (via NBC).

His repeated antics and disregard for the law eventually led to an arrest, prompting the officers to search. Reports stated that the police received an oval-shaped pill that had a 3 imprint, which later tested positive for amphetamine. Three hand-rolled cannabis cigarettes were also apparently recovered, according to the report.
As for the severity, considering it’s been reported that he was carrying possession of 20 grams or less of cannabis. Most likely, it can result in a misdemeanor rather than a felony.
The amphetamine charge, however, could complicate things, depending on whether he had a prescription for it and the quantity. All in all, with a bond set for $3.5k, Doherty could very well get off the hook if the amphetamine amount doesn’t meet the felony charge.
Then again, it’s too early to say anything certain, and netizens will have to wait to see how the situation unfolds.
