According to her, Fleiss’ life is full of drama, power struggles, and unbelievable twists, something no fictional script could easily match.
I’ve been on this track for a while. I got it in my head that I wanted to play her a couple of years ago and I’ve never played a real-life person before. It’s a different kind of scale, challenge, that I’m really excited about, and I just think she’s an incredible person, incredible character.
The story is insane. She’s done something that probably nobody else has ever done, and she’s still going. I think she’s the ultimate badass icon and she deserves the royal treatment. We shall give it to her. I hope to make a little trip to her place in the desert at some point. Spiritually I feel her. I’ve heard she’s very excited about it. We’re in early stages.

The Heidi Fleiss Story will follow the rise and fall of Heidi Fleiss, who was famously arrested in 1993 for running what was claimed to be the largest high-end prostitution ring. Her client list reportedly included powerful Hollywood names and politicians, though Fleiss never revealed their identities.
The scandal turned her into a tabloid sensation overnight. So now, decades later, Leah Rachel, creator of Netflix’s Chambers, took on the project marking her directorial debut. The upcoming biopic will thus focus on Fleiss’ life right before her trial, showing her desperate attempts to manipulate the system and use her connections to escape charges.
As per Variety, this story will also feature a young, ambitious writer named Jaclyn, who helped Heidi Fleiss try to blackmail and leverage powerful figures. So far, the script has been co-written by Rachel Sennott, along with Travis Jackson and Leah Rachel herself. Aubrey Plaza’s company Evil Hag will produce the film alongside Pinky Promise.
According to Deadline, filming will take place in Los Angeles later this year, thanks to a California film and TV tax incentive.
