Ever since Marvel Studios decided to drop the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal via a five-hour livestream, speculation regarding the appearance of additional characters has been running wild, with the latest rumor dealing with Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. The actress appears to have hinted at her MCU return in the much-awaited Avengers sequel in a recent public outing, causing fans to question the legitimacy of her proposed comeback.

Hailey Steinfeld seemingly responds to Avengers: Doomsday return rumors

During the Bumblebee actress’ recent appearance at the Mexican premiere of her upcoming supernatural horror flick Sinners, a fan posed the question if she would be reprising her MCU role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

As per a video clip shared by @marvel_updat3s on X (formerly Twitter), while Hailee Steinfeld moved ahead while signing autographs, she seemingly nodded in response to the query. This led everyone to conclude that Kate Bishop might just play an important role in the said project.

However, neither Marvel Studios nor the actress/singer has issued an official statement regarding Bishop’s involvement in Avengers 5. Moreover, it remains unclear if Steinfeld’s nod came in reply to the question about her proposed appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. With so much commotion going on in the background, her response could likely have been to a fan who wasn’t seen or heard in the said clip.

Hailee Steinfeld made her Marvel debut as Kate Bishop in 2021’s Hawkeye series before donning the mantle once again for a brief cameo in the post-credits scene of 2023’s The Marvels, alongside Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan. The sequence supposedly served as a setup for a Young Avengers project, which has since taken the shape of a series under the banner of ‘Champions.’

While Steinfeld’s aforementioned response does not provide a conclusive stance on her potential involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, more updates on the cast of the project should follow in the coming months. The film is currently on track to hit the big screens on May 1, 2026.
