As far as the moviegoing audience is concerned, Sushant Singh Rajput’s farewell film Dil Bechara to be streamed by Disney-Hotstar tonight at 7.30 pm ,is already a hit.
They have already embraced the film, no matter what its quality.
Mukesh Chabra who makes his debut as a director is petrified of the love that the film is generating in the audience. “It is as if they’ve already seen the film and loved it. There is no scope for second thoughts here.”
Posthumous releases are not unknown in Bollywood.Or Hollywood . In 1955 when James Dean died suddenly—as suddenly as Sushant—his release after death Rebel Without A Cause became an instant hit and an enduring classic.
Something similar is about to happen with Sushant in Dil Bechara. The film wasn’t easy to make. But director Mukesh Chabra feels the blood sweat and tears won’t go to waste.
“Sushant’s fans will make sure the hard work we put in won’t go unrewarded. The fame he has acquired after his death is unheard of,” he says.
