Will Good Newzz Be Postponed Due To Unrest?

While the  nation goes  up in flames with students  protesting all across the country against the Government’s new migration policy, the entertainment business is  badly hit.

With  a big Salman Khan  starrer Dabangg 3 opening much below expectations, we  now  hear Karan Johar is  contemplating  the postponement of his  big breezy bouncy  sex comedy Good Newzz which is scheduled  to open on Friday.

With many states  under siege, Karan  Johar is playing the wait-and-watch game.

“Karan is in constant  contact with  Akshay Kumar who not only plays  the  lead in Good Newzzbut is  also the  co-producer.Anything can  happen in the  coming days.And  if  the situation on the streets  continues to be  volatile, Good Newzz may be postponed,” says  the  source.

At the moment Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi are  considerably disturbed with the  night shows  being cancelled in  the  more disturbed areas.

 A  core member  of  the  Good Newzz  team  says the rumours of a postponement are baseless.  “I haven’t heard anything about  the release date  being shifted. Of course the  peace  and well being  of the country comes  first. But tell me, what  is  an ideal  time to release a  film, Kahin na kahinkabhi na kabhi kuch na kuch toh hota hi rehta hai. The important thing is for  the  people to like  a film.”

One can only wait and watch. It is a rapidly-chaging political scenario in our country right now. Cinema is  dependent on what goes on  in the streets.
