Will Mr Bachchan Play Ram Jethmalani?

It can now safely be said that the bio-pic on Ram Jethmalani will be happening by the beginning of next year. Ronnie Screwvala will produce the film which will be based on the authorized  biography of the lawyer’s life:  Susan Adelman’s The Rebel: a  Biography Of Ram Jethmalani .

Directors who are seriously under consideration are Rajkumar Gupta(of No One Killed Jessica fame) and Hansal Mehta.

Says a source in the know, “Ronnie is  not interested in making a big commercial film. He wants to tell the Jethmalani saga  as it was . The story of  boy who fled for his  life during the Partition and became the biggest legal eagle in India is inspirational and motivational.”

And that’s how Ronnie Screwvala who has lately incepted his  new production company RSVP, wants  to  project and  position the bio-pic.

Informed sources  say Screwvala has zeroed in on Amitabh Bachchanto play the older Jethamalani.

“But there  is the younger part  of Jethmalani’s life that is  very important.And if Mr Bachchan  is being cast as the older Jethmalanithe actor playing his younger version must be strong and powerful,” says the source.
