Will Salman’s Sunday Sikandar Strategy Solidify? Trade Experts Kick In

In a strategic move away from tradition, A R Murugadoss’s Sikandar is being released on Sunday, March 30.
Will this strategy work?
Trade guru Taran Adarsh think it will. “Salman Khan’s Sikandar could be a game-changer for the actor and there are three key reasons why. Reunion with Sajid Nadiadwala: Salman and Sajid have delivered multiple blockbusters together, making this collaboration highly anticipated.Directed by A.R. Murugadoss – The director of Ghajini and Holiday, Murugadoss is known for crafting high-octane entertainers.Eid Release – Salman’s track record during Eid is phenomenal, and Sikandar is poised to capitalize on this festive advantage. With a Sunday release, much like Tiger 3 – Salman’s highest opener to date – Sikandar is expected to take a thunderous start at the box office. The expectations are sky-high, and while the initial buzz is strong, the ultimate success will depend on the film’s content and audience reception.”
Adds trade analyst Atul Mohan, “Sikandar looks good to me! The excitement for Salman and his films is still as strong as ever, despite the underperformance of his last couple of movies. Releasing it on a Sunday is a smart business move—it’s a holiday, and with Eid the next day, both days are sure to bring in big numbers, followed by Basi Eid on Tuesday.”
Producer and trade expert Girish Johar is gung-go on the subject of Sikandar scaling summits of Salmania. “The expectations from any Salman release is always high and this time too, SIKANDAR is poised to take a good start at the BO. Since the release will be very wide & box office is very dynamic these days, the trends will depend on the audiences’ reception and word of mouth. Still a 30 crores start on Sunday, it’s 1st day is a possibility.Sunday is an odd day to release, but the makers feel that if Eid falls Monday then they get the weekend feel on Sun,Mon and Tues. So they are preferring and targeting hard-core Salman fans.”
