Disney+’s original series Low Life has unveiled character stills featuring Yang Se Jong as Oh Hee Dong, Oh Gwan Seok’s (Ryu Seung Ryong) nephew.

Set against the backdrop of 1977 Korea, Low Life follows country people who gather to seize a sunken treasure ship in the sea.

In the K-drama, Oh Hee Dong is a character who has been raised by his uncle, Oh Gwan Seok, and has made a living through petty scams and theft. Having learned the ways of the world in a harsh reality, he sets out on a dangerous journey following his uncle in search of valuable ceramic hidden in the sea off the coast of Sinan.

Yang Se Jong shared the reason he was drawn to the project and the character, saying, “The script was so much fun and made my heart race. I found Oh Hee Dong’s mannish, straightforward, and fiery personality very appealing.” He added, “It was a set where I learned so much from director Kang Yoon Sung. As I portrayed and studied Oh Hee Dong together with the director, I could feel the character coming to life.”

Director Kang Yoon Sung said, “When I saw Yang Se Jong’s previous performances, he came across as a clean-cut, cool young man, like a pretty boy. That’s why I thought that if he delivered an intense performance [for a character] like Oh Hee Dong, viewers would find it all the more refreshing and new.”
