Yash Raj Delivers The Biggest Flop Of Its Banner

What is wrong with the Indian moviegoer? Why  is he staying away from the new films?

This  week all the Hindi releasing , many of them from prestigious banners like Fox Star(A Gentleman) and Yash Raj(Qaidi Band) have opened to miserable collections.

Specially abysmal are collections of  Yash Raj Films’  Qaidi Band .

Early reports suggest  that Qaidi Band is the lowest opener for Yash Raj Films at the boxoffice.A  pity , considering it gives us two talented newcomers and a hardhitting subject to take home.

Explaining the boxoffice disaster  from the most illustrious banner in Bollywood trade analyst  Atul Mohan says, “Two films of same subject arriving closely and Lucknow Central looks bigger as of now , as compared to QaidiBand  with newcomers. Then, you are making a musical and not a single number to hum about…forget chartbuster! Add to this, there was a  lack of face-value and promotion. Also it was too crowded a week to make any presence felt.It appears that from day 1 YRF was making the film just for the sake of making it. Not the kind of music and promotion. Or is it that people now only want big starcast movies from YRF and not smaller ones?”
