Actress Yeom Hye-ran, loved for her roles in Crash Course in Romance and The Uncanny Counter, has revealed her candid worries as a mother to a middle school daughter.
On September 20, the YouTube channel Tteun Tteun released a new episode of Pinggyego featuring Yeom Hye-ran, Lee Byung-hun, Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, and Lee Sung-min.
When Ji Suk-jin asked about her child’s age, Yeom Hye-ran replied: “She’s in the first year of middle school.” Ji Suk-jin predicted, “That’s the start of puberty.”
Laughing, Yeom Hye-ran explained: “She’s doing everything exactly like in the textbooks. Things like, ‘That wasn’t me, it was the door.’” Her story drew laughter from the cast.
Despite the humor, Yeom Hye-ran admitted she feels conflicted: “She’s very empathetic too, but sometimes it feels like I’m being punished. I used to act the same way toward my mom.”
Yoo Jae-suk chimed in, “It really feels like watching my younger self,” and Lee Sung-min nodded in agreement.
The conversation expanded to teenage priorities. Lee Sung-min noted, “If I ask, ‘What’s more important, friends or family?’ she won’t answer.” Ji Suk-jin admitted, “Back then, friends were more important to me,” and Yoo Jae-suk added, “I secretly thought ‘friends’ hundreds of times.”
The heartfelt yet funny exchange struck a chord with viewers, showing a softer side of Yeom Hye-ran beyond her acclaimed screen roles.
