Between roles in I Love LA and Marty Supreme, Odessa A’Zion is having quite a year. But where did the up-and-coming actress get her start? She might have her famous mom to thank!
Odessa’s parents are actress Pamela Adlon and German director Felix Adlon. Her mom is best known for voicing Bobby Hill in King of the Hill. She also voiced Ashley Spinelli in Recess and starred, wrote, and produced Louie and Better Things alongside Louie C.K.
Odessa opted not to use her family’s name when launching her own career, which began with TV roles in Fam and Grand Army. “It was important to me to…It’s just my name now. It’s my own name,” she told Vanity Fair in October, seemingly wanting to distance herself from any nepotism association, unlike I Love LA co-star True Whitaker, who has leaned in to her connection to her famous dad.

Odessa’s parents, Pamela and Felix, were married from 1996 until 2010. 25-year-old Odessa is the middle of their three daughters, 27-year-old Gideon, and 22-year-old Rocky Valentine.
Better Things, which starred Anora actress Mikey Madison, is believed to be based on Pamela’s relationship with her daughters. That would make Odessa the free-spirited middle child in the show, Hannah, but she’s not so sure. “I will say that that’s a character, and it’s something made from one person’s perspective,” she told the Los Angeles Times in November.
Odessa’s mom, however, is happy to celebrate her, posting on Instagram to mark the premiere of I Love LA. “What a perfect night what a perfect moment. We love LA🧢! I’M WATCHING! 🐢 #proudmama #doyers #ilovemydaughter #odessa,” she wrote in the caption of the November 2 post.
