Young & Restless’ Conner Floyd Confirms if Chance Is Really Dead & He’s Leaving

Young and Restless delivered a huge twist in the previous episode as Chance Chancellor was shot by Carter, who was revealed to be the murderer they had been hunting. The tense episode, which featured several major developments, also appeared to be Conner Floyd‘s final episode on Young and Restless. But is he really leaving the show?

Conner Floyd says Chance died like a ‘hero’ on The Young and the Restless

As Conner Floyd is leaving The Young and the Restless to join Days of Our Lives, he will be replacing Billy Flynn. This was indeed his last episode on the show. With a major twist, Young and Restless wrote off the character of Chance Chancellor. The show also gave the actor a heroic exit.

In the most recent episode of Y&R, the revelation that Carter had killed Damian eventually led to an armed standoff. That standoff ended with Chance getting shot. “As sad as it is, I think that’s how Chance would want to go out,” Floyd said about Chance’s death in Young and Restless to Soap Opera Digest. “That’s his story that he’s always been telling — that he’s a hero — and the ultimate person to put everybody else above himself, so I think it’s a little poetic in a way.” Floyd had played this role since 2021.

He further spoke about the emotional departure from the show. “I was going into this thing being like, ‘I’m not gonna cry. I’m not gonna cry.’ And I remember talking to Billy Flynn (Cane), and he was like, ‘No, I bet you cry. I cried when I left [Days of Our Lives].’ I was like, ‘Yeah, we’ll see, man.’ We had this last scene, and everyone was clapping, and I was saying goodbye to everyone and walking out, and I cried like a baby. I’m not going to lie.”

He will soon appear in Days of Our Lives, taking on the role of Chad DiMera. So, he remains active in the soap world. However, Chance Chancellor’s death confirms that Conner Floyd is no longer a part of Young and Restless.
