Diljit Dosanjh Bags His First Karan Johar Film
After his stupendous performance as hockey player Sandeep Singh in Soorma Diljit’s career in Hindi cinema is on a roll.
His performance in Soorma has caught the attention of some of the biggest filmmakers in Bollywood , including Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar. While Bhansali is contemplating where to fit this “incredibly honest actor” into his oeuvre Karan Johar has gone ahead and signed Diljit for a plum role in a film to be directed by debutant Raj Mehta.
Mehta, has assisted Shakun Batra in Karan Johar’s production of Kapoor & Sons.
Interestingly Diljit would be sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar in this film. Apparently Rajkummar Rao was the first choice for this part. But Rao was unable to adjust his dates.
Says a source close to the project, “It’s a very powerful role , parallel to Akshay Kumar’s part and very pivotal to the main drama. Akshay and Diljit are big fans of each other’s works. So this is going to be one helluva team.”
