Sonakshi Sinha-Huma Qureshi In A Body-Shaming Comedy

Two  female  actors known to push the envelope have now teamed up to play overweight  friends in a  bodyshaming  comedy.

Besides the  fact that  Huma  played  a  Bihari politician in   a webseries  (Maharani)  and Sonakshi is a Bihari, Huma Qureshi and  Sonakshi Sinha have  some other things in common.

They were both constantly trolled  for their weight when they  started  their career They therefore identify with their parts  of body-shamed women. Not too many details of their roles are  available. Sonakshi plays a woman from Delhi wile Huma is a character from  Uttar Pradesh.

Entitled Double XL the film was shot  in London and Delhi and will be released  in the summer of  2022. It   is produced by  Mudassar Aziz who is  rumoured  to be in  a relationship with Ms Qureshi, and it also stars Salman Khan’s protégé  Zaheer Iqbal who is Sonakshi Sinha’s “best friend”.Ms Qureshi and her brother Saqib Saleem are co-producers  on the project, which  also stars Tamil star Mahat Raghvendra. So it’s all in the family, one guesses.

It is directed  by Satramm Ramani  whose recent release Helmet  about  condom consciousness  left much to be  desired. Hopefully Ramani generates  more humour of body-shaming than he  did  from protected  sex.
