Shashank Arora Disowns His Full Frontal Shot In New Flick
Titli actor Shashank Vora who is currently shooting for Rock On 2 with Farhan Akhtar has been flooded with curious calls and messages asking about his full-frontal shot in Qaushik Mukherjee’s Brahman Naman.
During one of the film’s hero’s raunchy escapades Shashank Vora is shown dipping his erect penis in a fish tank filled with swimming(and very curious) gold fish.
So is that for real?
Adding to the curiosity the film’s writer Naman Ramachandran when asked about the strange floating object in the fish pond in an interview , refused to comment.
Now however Shashank Vora who plays the protagonist Naman in Brahman Naman bursts the bubble when he reveals the penis is not his.
“It’s a prosthetic. Do you think I am crazy enough to put my genitals in a fish tank swimming with gold fish?” reasons Vora who’s just wrapping his new film Rock On 2.
Brahman Naman has come into considerable flak for its explicit lurid content.
But Shahank is unrepentant. “Someone has to do the dirty job because others don’t have the balls to do it. Never mind if the experiment fails. Somone has got to tell stories that are usually swept under the carpet.”
Says Shashank, “The whole point of playing the raunchy character in Brahman Naman was to play someone completely different from what I played in Titli. In that endeavour I know I’ve succeeded. Titli will always remain very special for me. But Brahman Naman was equally gruelling.”
Shashank describes the experience of shooting both the film as being painful. “I suffered while shooting both. There was no fun in the filming. It was an ongoing battle to shoot with the budgets that we has. We shot the entire films during the time it takes big-budget movies to shoot an item song.”
Now for the first time Shashank is doing a high-budget film with Farhan Akhtar’s production company. “But believe me, shooting for Rock On 2 is as much hard work as Titli and Brahman Naman. Whether it’s a nukkadnaatak or a superhero flick an actor should invest an equal amount of self in everything he does.”
While Rock On 2 where he plays a musician (Shashank is a real life guitarist) takes Shashank into a different world.
“And you’ll see me in Anup Singh’s The Song Scorpions playing an altogether different character.I get to share screen space with actors like Irrfan Khan and Waheeda Rehman.Waheedaji is my mother’s favourite actress. So it’s like living out a domestic dream for me.”
