Actor Purab Kohli Who Turned 46 This Week, Speaks To Subhash K Jha

Life begins at 40.So that makes you 6 years old.How do you look at your journey so far?
Well, I wish I was six. Actually, I wish I was 16, which is I think a good age. But then again, 46 is also fantastic. I think I feel so mature now, you know, I mean, compared to what I was when I was 16 or 26 or 36. 36 to 46 has been an interesting decade, I have to say.
A British wife, two lovely kids, a home in London and career in Indian cinema. What more can you ask for?
I have a nine-year old girl and a six year old boy. The last time I met you, which was probably around the release of Jal in 2014 I was single, you know, and now I’m married with two kids, how life moves! So what more could I ask for? Nothing, actually, I think I’m very, very content and satisfied. I think the journey has been quite amazing, you know, from having opportunities to start a life in a city like Mumbai, Bombay at that time, then becomes Mumbai, which are two different cities, if you ask me, and then living a few years in Goa and now in London.
Are you satisfied with the opportunities as an actor?
I think as an actor, you’re constantly looking at rediscovering or finding new things within yourself and what better opportunity than living in different parts of the world and getting, you know, when you move to a new place, it brings out a new, something new in yourself. So I’ve had that opportunity a few times. And also the, the good fortune of being able to keep coming back to my roots in Bombay and, and reconnect every now and then, in fact, I’m supposed to come to India next week. So touch wood, I feel very lucky, and I’ve had a very interesting journey so far.
How did you bring in your birthday?
Well, we had a party on Saturday night. And we had lots of friends over and family over. So that was lovely. And the next day was very cozy at home. My kids, of course, the Sunday, so kids were around. And we went for a long walk in the park. It was very, very, very, very cozy.
Birthday wishes?
Well, I hope this this year brings about more films. I’m very keen to do more film work. I have done some actually, there’s a there’s a Konkani film that I’ve done, which is due to release very soon. So that’s an exciting there’s a film I did in Dehradun last year before last, which is due to release. So that’s that’s something to look out for.I’m actually coming to India next week to do another film. So I’m quite excited about film work, because the last few years I’ve done a lot of series work. And now it feels like there’s a shift happening. And I’m enjoying that shift. So more films to come out. So looking forward to that. Fingers crossed. All right. Thanks, Subhash. And I hope to see you soon. And maybe with one of these films, we’ll bring them to you to Patna for you to watch.Your opinion matters .
