Anees Bazmee: “Kartik Has Impeccable Comic Timing”

Prolific  and successful director Anees Bazmee whose comedies in the past such as  Welcome, No Entry and Singh Is Kiing were huge hits, is readying  his latest comedy Bhool Bhulaiya 2  for  release.

Proud  of  the end-product Bazmee says, “It’s shaped up into a complete entertainer  for  the family. My films  are always  free of vulgarity and  double meanings.  My leading man  Kartik Aryan  also has a very family-oriented image. Kids , grownups, grandfather  and  grandmothers  …they  all love Kartik.So we  have a double responsibility  which  Bhool Bhulaiya 2  will more than  deliver.”

Anees  pooh-poohs all comparisons  between Bhool Bhulaiya and  Bhool Bhulaiya 2.  “The first  Bhool Bhulaiya  film came 14  years ago.  Audiences  have moved on since then. Priyadarshan who directed  the first  film had his own style of storytelling. I have my own  style.”

For those comparing Kartik  in Bhool Bhulaiya 2 with Akshay Kumar in Bhool Bhulaiya, Priyan quips, “Wait to see   the entire film before  comparing the two. Akshay and Kartik are different actors. They  both have impeccable comic timing.  But their approach and style  are  incomparable.They are like two masterchefs  cooking the same  dish. The taste  and flavor  are bound to be  completely different.”
