On Sunday morning Arjun Rampal who is known to be a peacenik, woke up to reports that he had assaulted a photographer in Delhi on the previous evening.
“This was bizarre. Because I didn’t recall any such incident.I started getting a barrage of calls and messages from friends asking what had happened. The answer is…nothing! Nothing happened,” says Arjun sounding far from volatile violent and menacing.
“I am not prone to violence.I’ve never raised my hands on anyone in real life. Even in my movies I avoid over-doing the violence. To raise my voice is an effort, to raise my hand is an ordeal,” laughs Arjun.
He recalls being live on stage in Delhi on Saturday night. “It was a fun gig .We were all having a great time. I don’t know where the violence came into the musical.”
The only violence in Arjun’s life is the role of the gangster-politician Arun Gawli who, the actor portrays in his forthcoming film Daddy.
“It’s a role I am extremely proud of. My first bio-pic, my first true-life character, and a real challenge . This was a man completely removed from my personality. I can’t wait to see how audiences react to my efforts.”
