Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro To Be Screened For The I & B Ministry

The film may have underperformed at the boxoffice.  But Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro  seems to have a long shelf life.

One now hears from sources in the Ministry Of Information & Broadcasting that Gowariker’s film would be screened for officials in the Ministry.

Confirming this the source close to the I & B ministry says, “There aren’t too many films re-creating Indian history for presentday generations of moviegoes. The Ministry feels Mohenjo Daro could serve as reliable visual textbook reference for a chunk of Indian history.”

Ashutosh Gowariker reacted with joy to the news. “I am delighted to know that the Secretary, Joint Secretaries and  the officials of Ministry of I & B, Govt. of India wish to see my film  Mohenjo Daro. It’s a honour that such great dignitaries are interested in your work. We have arranged a screening for them and hoping they all enjoy the film.”

Though Mohenjo Daro was slammed by Indian critics it continues to gather raves abroad. After being selected as the closing film for the 69th Locarno International Film Festival and receiving a phenomenal response, now the 45th Annual Conference on South Asia, which is held in Madison, Wisconsin, will also be screening Mohenjo Daro on October 23.
