Bollywood Celebrates Christmas
Sanjay Leela Bhansali: “As you can see in my films, I am extremely close to the Church. Whenever I am not shooting I make it point to light candles every Wednesdayin my favourite church in Mumbai. Christmas is a time of tremendous excitement for me. I love giving and receiving gifts. Last year during Christmas my Bajirao Mastaniwas released. So I was unable to celebrate. This year I’ve a break from shooting, so I look forward to a pleasurable Christmas with lots of cakes and puddings.The daal-chawal routine forgotten for day.”
Amrita Arora: “For our family the Christmas rituals remain unchanged.This Christmas we’ll be doing the same things we do every Christmas.Midnight mass and on the 25th,a huge family lunch at my Mom’s place that goes on till dinner.”

So celebrations start for me from Christmas and go on till New Years.”
Rensil d’Silva: “There will be lots of Christmas carols, vintage songs by Jim Reeves , and lots of yummy sorpotel, presents will be unwrapped with breathless excitement, lunch and dinner plans will be made with family who will descend on Mumbai from all parts of the world.”
Remo D’Souza: “As usual I’ll be home with the family.That’s the way I like it during Christmas.”
Terence Lewis: “For me Christmas is about family and friends. I’m so tired travelling and living out of my suitcase this year, that I’ve just decided to stay at home ! However I do wish to go to snow-capped mountain in India in the Christmas week! The thing is I hate planning n love being spontaneous so just like last year I will find a spiritual abode where I can spend the last few days of the year, slowing down, reflecting n having a philosophical time with myself! I like the idea of just picking a place, booking it on line n then just staying open to any eventuality! The need to deconstruct n be detached emotionally with whatever things that I have given too much space n unnecessary n choosing new experiences consciously is gonna be the agenda of my three day retreat away tucked in the hills!”
Dino Morea: “My Christmas plans…. midnight church, my parents have arrived, so the regular Christmas lunch, some mulled wine, friends pour in, and it just becomes a full house. We have sweet kids who go house-to-house carol-singing, our street is lit up the best in the whole of Mumbai, so all around Christmas cheer in the air.It’s the most beautiful time of the year and the one time when I am looking at stockings with holy thoughts.”
Malaika Arora: “I’ll attend midnight mass with my family on the 25th. The there is the traditional Christmas lunch with the entire family.”
