“The Butt Is Blurred In Deadpool,” Pahlaj Nihalani Defends The Much-Talked About Butt Shot

The internet is going ballistic over Ryan Reynolds’ butt shot in the trailer of Deadpool 2 and how the sankari censor chief has turned a new leaf.

But censor chief  Pahlaj Nihalani is not biting the bait. “The trailer that we’ve been shown for censor approval is  not a full-fledged bum shot. It’s a bum shot in a blur. The hero is changing I a telephone booth .We see his bum from outside a semi-opaque glass pane. If it was a proper bum shot we would have probably cut it. For no other reason except for the fact that it does not serve any purpose except one of distraction.Bum shots do not drive the plot forward.So unless the trailer being shown in the internet has a clear bum shot there is nothing to get hot and  bothered about.”

Nihalani also points out that the trailer of Dead Pool 2 has been certified for ‘Adults Only’.  “It has lurid violent content. The super-hero is shown resting his head on the torso of murdered man  on the street enjoying icecream. This is probably their idea of fun.And we are no one to approve or disapprove. We’ve  certified it as adult fun. The trailer cannot be played with ‘U’ or ‘UA’ feature films.”
