Heeramandi: Will It Save Netflix India?

Netflix India who are said to be in a  serious financial mess, are going all out to nurture and project Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s unlimited series Heeramandi as their biggest  USP since Sacred Games.

Netflix India has not really had a serious success since Sacred Games . Several  of their prestigious premium products  like Bombay Begums  failed to crack the code.Recently the failures have multiplied.Attempts to  pump up  unlikeable films like Thar and Red Notice as their USPs has  not helped.

All hope is now  glued to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi a song-and-dance costume drama which  boasts of  Bhansali’s trademark exquisiteness.

Sources say  Netflix will spare no effort to ensure every episode is  a  work of art.

Says a source. “Bhansali is personally supervising every episode although  officially he only directs the first episode. His trademark lavishness would be  visible in every frame. Netflix has  given Bhansali a free hand to  do what he  wants.”

Apparently  money is no problem. Netflix just wants a spectacular webseries from Bhansali which would  overturn  the tirade of criticism that the  opposers  of  OTT platform have lately hurled at  Netflix.
