IFFA 2018: Varun Mocks Kartik Aryan On Stage!

A spot of envy is not unknown even among the most successful of stars when competition creeps up on them from nowhere.

So it was not really a big surprise when during the opening ceremony of the current International Indian Film Academy awards(IIFA) in Bangkok Varun Dhawan who currently rules the charts took a jibe at his junior Kartik Aryan on stage , calling out to Aryan as the “new star, the 100-crore hero.”

An actor present at the event says, “Outwardly Varun was being appreciative. But one could sense the stinging jibe at the rising star.”

Varun has several 100-crore hits to his credit. To make a reference to Kartik’s first 100-crore film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was a bit uncalled-for.

“It was almost like pointing out that the junior actor has a long way to go,” says the actor who witnessed the incident.
