Lil Nas X is taking his new look in stride.
The rapper revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that he’s currently unable to control the right side of his face.
Laugh Today, Cry Tomorrow
The post begins with Lil Nas X laying in a hospital bed with the front facing camera pointed at him.
“And when I smile?” he says. “This is me doing a full smile right now by the way,” the rapper says before letting out a laugh. The right side of his face is clearly unable to move.
“It’s like, what the [expletive]? I can’t even laugh right, bro. What the [expletive]?” he tries laughing again.
While he did try to play it off, Lil Nas X allowed himself to get vulnerable with the situation. Tears welled up in his eyes before he ended the video.
No other details were given about his condition. Although, it doesn’t appear to be too serious.
Not so Cool Cat
Lil Nas X is getting through his seemingly temporary condition with humor.
In follow up stories, the rapper posted “I’m so cooked” with two crying emojis over a selfie video where he says “We normal over here” before trucking over to the right side and adding “We crazy over here!” He finishes with a laugh.
The next story features Huey’s “Pop, Lock and Drop It” playing over a white background with the words “GUYS I AM OK!! STOP BEING SAD FOR ME! SHAKE YOUR [EXPLETIVE] FOR ME INSTEAD!”
A following story has Lil Nas X sharing a low angled selfie while he wears a trucker hat. There’s a caption that reads “Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it” with two crying emojis.
Another story – this time from the rapper’s home – features his cat at the foot of his bed with Lil Nas X saying “Zepher! Why are you doing that with your eye? Are you mocking me?” All this as a capiton reads “Why he mocking me [sic] This little [expletive]” and two crying emojis.
At press time, a final story has Lil Nas X approaching a mirror with his hood up while the caption “Right eye is stubborn [sic] Imma be gold [sic] Smile getting a lil better.”
He throws in “I feel like it’s already getting better,” he says looking at the camera before trying to smile with his entire face. “Obviously, you can see this left side, like, is blinking. This right eye is keeping an eye out for Selena.,” he says in reference to famed singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez.
“It do not give a [expletive].” He tries several times to wink with his right eye to no avail. “I can force it to shut,” he says as he closes both eyes. “But baby girl over here… she’s not,” he says before ending the video.
Lil Nas X is currently promoting his latest project, the 8 track “Days Before Dreamboy.”
