My Diwali Plans, Actors Opens Up
Shabana Azmi: “My husband Javed Akhtar is coming back on the 7th so he won’t be here for Diwali. We are having a smalltaash party(cards) on the 8th.At midnight we’ll bring in my sister-in-law Tanve Azmi’s birthday.”
Tanushree Dutta(who triggered off the MeToo movement in India): “This Diwali is very special for me. It has opened up a whole new door in my consciousness.But when you say I’ve vanquished evil this Diwali you give me too much credit. I just brought in some light and awareness , that’s all.For actually vanquishing evil fully, the awareness has to remain and grow and everyone including the media must keep reporting and holding people accountable for their actions.Social change is always a joint effort not a one-person endeavour.”
Madhavan: “After a very long time the entire extended family is here for Diwali. I feel I am in a Sooraj Barjatya film.”
Tiger Shroff: “I am in Portugal shooting with Hrithik Sir for our Yash Raj film together .What better Diwali can I hope for? Sadly no Diwali at home for me this year.”
Kartik Aryan: “I am going to be celebrating Diwali with my family this time.And as usual we are going to do pooja and eat good food with friends and family.Also I don’t like bursting crackers
And I urge people to stay away from it , to celebrate a noise and pollution free Diwali.”
Arjun Kapoor: “I have no major Diwali plans. Will be home with the family.”
Richa Chadha: “No Diwali plans. I am shooting in Bengaluru for Shakila.”
Manisha Koirala: “I am shooting and trying to complete a film. But I’ll try to make time to visit friends and celebrate Diwali with them in Mumbai. Laxmi puja at home is a must.”
Tapsee Pannu: “I am home. Back in Delhi for Diwali. Some rangoli-making, painting on diyas and good meal with the extended family.”
Vishal Krishna: “Shooting in Vizag.I will be going to an old-age home and an orphanage. Will be having lunch with them. I hate bursting crackers.”
Vijay Deverakonda: “I am shooting for my new film Dear Comrade away from home. So I won’t be home for Diwali. But I feel Diwali would be meaningful only when we eradicate the darkness in our hearts.Noise and air pollution caused by arbitrary bursting of crackers must stop. Babies and animals are a big part of the population. Make Diwali peaceful for them.”
