Neil Nitin Mukesh’s Career As Villain Takes Off
Even as his latest release Dussehra tanked loudly at the boxoffice, Neil Nitin Mukesh is now seriously looking at a career in screen villainy.
In recent years, or for that matter even in his entire career as a leading man, Neil has seen little luck as a leading man.
In 2012 Neil did his first role as a villain in Abbas-Mustan’s Players. Thereafter it was evident that his career ahead lay on the mean path.He played the villain opposite Salman Khan in Prem Rattan Dhan Payo and Farhan Akhtar in Wazir. In 2014 his villainous turn in Murugadoss’ Tamil film Kaththi opened up the South market for Neil.
In Sujeeth’s Telugu film Saaho Neil is cast as the main antagonist opposite Prabhas. Sources say Neil has more footage than Shradha Kapoor, the romantic lead in Saaho.
“Neil is the triggering point for the action in Saaho. He has some solid action scenes with Prabhas and the bloodied climax will see them in a mortal combat , hand-to-hand. Of course Neil is defeated by Prabhas. But he does put up a great fight,” says the source adding the film will make him the most in-demand villain of Telugu cinema.
For those who came in late Neil Nitin Mukesh made his belated debut with Sriram Raghavan’s Johnny Gaddar which was a cult hit. Thereafter he struggled to make his presence felt in a string of duds where he was also heard singing his own songs since he comes from an illustrious family of singers.
