Priyanka Chopra To Play Mother In Shonali Bose’s Next

After the closure of her popular American series Quantico, it seems Priyanka Chopra is entirely focused on rebuilding her Bollywood career. After signing Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat with Salman Khan, Priyanka has given the nod to feminist filmmaker Shonali Bose’s next venture where Priyanka will play mother to a specially specially abled teenage daughter.

While reports of Zaira Wasim playing the daughter are dismissed by sources close to the development as “premature” and “misrepresentative” Priyanka has apparently given her go-ahead.

Says the well-informed source, “Priyanka has seen the director Shonali Bose’s earlier work Margarita With A Straw which focused on a specially abled lesbian woman. Also, playing a mother to a growing daughter is no big deal for the actress. She played a single mother to a growing child in Karan Johar’s Dostana and Yash Raj Film’s Pyaar Impossible.”

However the source says Zaira Wasim would look somewhat unsuited to play Priyanka’s daughter.

“Zaira is a good choice. But she would not look convincing as Priyanka’s daughter,”says the source.
