Good news for Hrithik fans and of the franchise which has now completed 11 years

Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish series has always not just emerged huge blockbusters and broken some records but grossed crores at the boxoffice. The science fiction superhero film, revolving around Krishna or Krrish who acquires superhero powers, directed, produced, and written by Rakesh Roshan, and starring Hrithik Roshan have always emerged winners at the BO and spawned a collection of merchandise from toys to games. One week after Krrish released, another Hollywood superhero film, Superman Returns released in India but Krrish fared better at the Indian box office in India than the Hollywood franchise did.

The scripting of Krrish 4 has commenced from more than a year ago and the final draft is expected to be completed by 2017. Says a trade analyst, “Rakeshji has always been very particular about the quality of his script no matter how much time they take. The first Krrish was the sequel to Koi… Mil Gaya. The film became a trendsetter in Indian cinema, with visual effects on par with those from Hollywood and the stunts choreographed by Chinese martial arts film expert Tony Ching. While the scripting of Krrish 4 has started, the filmmaker is going over it with a comb to smoothen out the flaws and then plans to launch it early next year.”

When Krrish released worldwide on June 23, the final worldwide gross almost touched the Rs 150 crore mark. It was one of the first movies to enter the 100 crore market of that time. With Krrish 3, Hrithik entered the Rs. 300 crore and the film ended up with a lifetime collection of Rs 374 crore (approx).
