Salman Khan Unfazed By Cringe-Worthy Reviews, Moves On To Race 4

One would think a superstar would have plenty to worry about if his latest film was greeted with hoots of indignation.

But Salman Khan couldn’t be bothered less. Apparently the star is more than pleased with the way Race 3 has been received.

A close friend of the Superstar reveals Salman is happy with the opening boxoffice collections.

“Race 3 is one of Bhai’s biggest openers. And everyone around him including his father , writer Salim Khan whose opinion Salman really values, praised the film. The team is already planning Race 4 which could get priority over the family film Dabangg 3 which Prabhudheva is to direct for Salman Khan’s production house .But Prabhu has to clear the decks in the South before he gets down to Dabanngg 3 which won’t be happening until end of 2019. Race 4 may happen before that,” says the friend.

Race 4 will feature the entire Race 3 cast including the two leading ladies Daisy Shah and Jacqueline Fernandez.

“Remo d’Souza who directed Race 3 may not direct Race 4 as he is committed to direct a Varun Dhawan-Katrina Kaif starrer,” informs a source in the know.

Many of Salman’s colleagues feel the Race franchise needs drastic revision before being brought back.

But as long as it works, who cares? The film has accrued the highest opening collections for any film in 2018. It would have been much higher had Eid not been delayed by a day. If Eid had fallen on the film’s opening day the collections would have roared even louder.

The scathing reviews , bordering on dismissiveness is in complete contrast to the collections.

Says film critic Karan Anshuman, “Certainly Salman doesn’t need to do any sort of career rethink, but simply accommodate viewers’ evolving tastes more often. Which he was doing fine with films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan.”

Adds trade expert Atul Mohan , “He should concentrate on masala fare like Tiger Zindai Hai and Race 3. That’s what audience wants from him. Despite been panned by critics for Race 3 the film managed to get highest day 1 of 2018. Let’s see how it fares over the weekend.”

However trade analyst Amod Mehra thinks Salman needs to cut down on his kilos immediately. “First and foremost, he should reduce his weight by at least 30 kilos. Only then he should do subjects that suit his age and certainly not action films.”
