Sanju Clocked 3 years On June 29, Some Unknown Facts On Ranbir’s Only Hit In Years
Sanju: Some little known fact about the movie
1. Ranbir Kapoor is a big Sanjay Dutt fan. Long before Ranbir Kapoor played Dutt he told me he hero-worshipped Dutt and that the senior actor would often given him expensive gifts. They were so close that at one point Dutt called Ranbir home and berated him for doing out-of-the-box films. ‘Yeh kya Barfi aur Laddoo kar raha hai?’. Ranbir Kapoor could only bow his head docilely and mumble. He said it was bolti bandh for him before Baba.
2. Before Sanju , Ranbir Kapoor had flops and average earners: Besharam(flop), Roy(flop), BombayVelvet(flop), Tamasha(flop), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil(average) and Jagga Jasoos(Flop). Ranbir last hit before Sanju was Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani in 2013.Sanju is the biggest hit of his career.
3. Was Sanju really a bio-pic on Sanjay Dutt? There was no mention of his first wife Richa Sharma, or his daughter from that marriage. There was no mention of the second wife Rhea Pillai…There was only one woman in the cinematic Sanju’s life and she was played by Sonam Kapoor who looked nothing like a woman Dutt would date. And why was he shown putting a toilet seat around her neck? No such incident happened in the real Sanjay Dutt’s life. And what was Vicky Kaushal playing? I know all of Dutt’s best friends over the years. Never seen anyone like Kamlesh “Kamli” Kanhaiyalal Kapasi.WTF !!!!
4. Sanjay Dutt’s parents the legendary Nargis and Sunil Dutt were played by Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala who didn’t resemble the originals from any angle. Both looked too young to play Ranbir ‘Sanju’ Kapoor’s parents.Director Raj Kumar Hirani should have cast Sanjay Dutt as Sunil Dutt and Tabu as Nargis.
5. Sanju is not only Ranbir Kapoor’s only hit in recent times it is also his only release in the last three years. His next three releases Brahmastra,Shamshera and Luv Ranjan’s rom-com won’t make it into theatres until late 2022.Until then fans can enjoy the Sanjay Dutt bio-pic which was as close to Dutt as the Ganga to Mumbai.
