Sikh Organizations Ask Flying Jatt To Remove Religious Emblems

Though director Remo d’Souza denies it, the fact of the matter is that he has been asked to remove certain religious emblems from his super-hero film The Flying Jatt which opens next week.

Remo’s team has now taken the film back to post-production where the offending emblems are being digitally removed.

Says a source close to the project, “Though the censorboard has cleared the film with no cuts, the makers of The Flying Jatt don’t want to take any chance, as there have been objections from Sikh and Jat cultural and religious organizations regarding certain shots.Better safe than sorry.”

Prior to this, Sajid Nadiadwala had a knife dangling between Jacqueline Fernandez’s legs digitally removed in a dance item in Dishoom when it was alleged by some Sikh organizations that the knife was disrespectful to their religion as it resembled a holy kirpan.”
