Sridevi, Rajamouli To Work Together In His Next

Mortified, daunted and enormously determined to correct the situation, S S Rajamouli has decided to let bygones be bygones and work with one of his favourite actresses Sridevi.

The  trouble, if one may call it that, began when Rajamouli with no malice intended,  spoke in an interview about why Sridevi didn’t/couldn’t do Baahubali.

He was quoted as saying, “Sridevi asked for 8 crores. Apart from that, she wants five business class tickets whenever she has to fly to Hyderabad and fly back. And five business suites should be booked at the biggest hotel in Hyderabad for her entourage during their stay. She even wanted a share in Hindi version of the film.”

All this is a thing of the past.

Rajamouli told this writer he regrets talking in public about his financial deadlock with Sridevi.(Actually it’s her husband Boney Kapoor who handles all her business transactions, so technically the alleged demands were not made by Sridevi at all).

This writer can also reveal(though he is not supposed to) that Rajamouli is planning to cast Sridevi in his next film which will be produced in Andhra Pradesh.  It can also be revealed that the ever-enterprising Rajamouli intends to cast Sridevi in a role she has never attempted before.

Hungry for more information on the historic collaboration? Here it is: it won’t be  a costume drama. But a contemporary subject, very ‘today’ and extremely sensitive.

Sridevi on her part is game for the challenge. “I don’t hold any grudges and I don’t even believe he(Rajamouli)can talk like that. What is in the past is in the past. The roles I don’t play are irrelevant to me. It is important for me to  find new challenges as an actor. Mom has been a deeply satisfying experience. I look forward to more characters that I haven’t played before.”
