Will ‘Sikandar’ Rule the Box Office? Salman Khan’s Eid Release Faces Tough Competition

With Eid just around the corner, excitement for Salman Khan’s upcoming action film Sikandar is at an all-time high. Directed by renowned South filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss, known for Ghajini, this movie carries massive expectations. While Salman’s star power is undeniable, early advance booking figures suggest that Sikandar may have a tough road ahead to enter the 1000-crore club.
Advance Booking Numbers Revealed
According to SACNILK reports, Sikandar has secured ₹9.31 crore in advance bookings for its opening day. The highest pre-booking numbers have come from Delhi and Maharashtra, with ₹77 lakh and ₹71 lakh, respectively. With two days left before release, the numbers could still see an upward trend. However, if ticket sales do not accelerate, Sikandar may struggle to achieve massive box office numbers.
Comparison with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’
Shah Rukh Khan set new benchmarks with Pathaan and Jawan, both surpassing the 1000-crore mark. Advance booking numbers for these films were far superior—Pathaan registered ₹32 crore in pre-sales, leading to a ₹55 crore opening in India and ₹100 crore worldwide. Meanwhile, Jawan recorded ₹40.75 crore in advance bookings and achieved ₹70 crore in India and ₹120 crore globally on its first day.
Can ‘Sikandar’ Beat ‘Tiger 3’s Record?
For Sikandar to create history, it needs to match or surpass Salman Khan’s previous opening day record set by Tiger 3, which collected ₹44 crore. Trade analysts remain hopeful that Salman’s massive fanbase and the Eid holiday boost could push the opening day collections to ₹40-50 crore.
With the film releasing in just two days, all eyes are on Sikandar. Will it deliver a blockbuster opening, or will it struggle against past record-breaking performances? Stay tuned for box office updates!
