It was a  chance remark made by the Baahubali director that he would like to film The Mahabharat , made  at a public event that triggered off  the wildest imagination of a section of the  media who took conjecture and speculation to another level giving out financial details of the proposed project.

However, Rajamouli’s father the writer K Vijayendra Prasad says these are nothing but senseless rumours being spread for the sake of sensationalism.

“Did anyone check with Rajamouli or me before writing this? Let me tell you straightaway that right  now the Mahabharat is not on the cards. But I guess creating news is the order of the day.”

Vijayendra Prasad says at the moment Rajamouli is entirely taken up with the second and final part of Baahubali .

“We are working round the clock to ensure the film releases on time on April 28. The Mahabharat hasn’t even crossed our mind,” says Vijayendra Prasad.
