Thank God Is Banned In Kuwait, May Not Release In India Too
Trouble for Indra Kumar’s religious satire Thank God deepens . After a case that was filed against it in Uttar Pradesh for hurting religious sentiments , we now hear that the film has been banned in Kuwait.
The Central Board of Film Certification in India is also under pressure to ban the film when it is submitted for consideration. It is unlikely that the censor board would go against popular sentiments.
Informed sources reveal that the producers now plan to postpone the film’s release indefinitely, as the atmosphere in the country is seen to be not conducive to a religious satire.
Director Indra Kumar has earlier worked with Ajay Devgan in the hit comedy Ishq . Devgan plays Lord Chitragupta in Thank God. His look as a Hindu God in a suit and with a beard has not been appreciated.
