As the blockbuster-bound Street Dancer prepares to open all across India, Ajay Devgan has decided to step on the promotion and screens of his pseudo-historicals. Tanhaji a chronicle of the the Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare has caught the attention of viewers on a level that this week’s 3D dance film Street Dancer never expected.
Says a source in the know, “The collections of Tanhaji have gone through the roof. T Series who are the producers of Tanhaji never expected the film to succeed to such an extent. Now that the film has been given a tax exemption in Maharashtra its producers T Series are caught totally unaware by the enormity of the success.”
Luckily Street Dancer is a product that T Series completely believes in.
Says the source, “Street Dancer and Tanhaji are completely separate in mood location and era. T Series has tightened its belt accordingly . In its third week they shall hold on to the screens allotted to them for Tanhaji in the first week , further consolidating its position among the biggest successes in the historical genre, while investing their energy in Street Dancer.”
Interestingly both the T Series biggies Tanhaji and Street Dancer are in 3D. It would not be a premature exaggeration to say that the 3D format has made a comeback in 2020.
