John Abraham Boycotts Awards

After  Aamir Khan ,Ajay Devgn, Prakash Jha ,Vishal Bhardwaj and Kangana Ranaut, it is John Abraham’s turn to say no to popular awards.

Recently  Ritesh Deshmukh made a dig at a popular awards function about John “never” getting any awards.

Says John, “That’s not an incorrect observation. I don’t get them. I don’t want them.And even if I did get them I don’t think I’d attend.”

When asked why he’s so against awards John says, “It’s not the awards I am against. It’s the  awards functions that I find hard to appreciate. They are attended only by those who win awards. All the winners clap for one another and go home happy.I don’t want to be any part of  this exercise. It doesn’t make any sense to me.”

John doesn’t disapprove of those who attend and receive awards. “They are happy doing what they’re doing. I am not comfortable with the idea of attending or receiving popular awards. I don’t think I’ll ever get one.”

When asked if he was certain not to get them because of his looks John agrees, “I remember reading a statement of Dustin Hoffman to Robert Redford . It said, ‘The way you look will always come in the way you act.’ I rest my case.”
